Turn Top Tips

Is your brand maximizing the advertising potential of its retail shopping bags? 
We are noticing more retailers utilizing the turn-top of their high-end shopping bags to communicate with their customers. WE LOVE THIS TREND!

The turn top provides an elegant finish to handled bags such as Euro totes, J-slit bags, and well-made soft handled poly bags.  These bags signify quality and are the choice of many premium brands.  But the turn top itself does not always receive a lot of design attention, even though it is available space that can be utilized for a variety of purposes.

 “I always tell my customers, ‘If you are going to upgrade to a bag with a turn top, you should utilize turn top text,’” explains Tara Niesslein, AnnJoy’s director of national accounts.  “You should use all the space available to you, and turn top text is available at no extra cost.”

So how might your brand make better use of the turn top?  Here are some ideas: 

1. Advertise your website or run a hashtag with your social media branding

 2. Capitalizing on consumer interest in the environment, why not put a reuse reminder right on the turn top? 

This is an especially strong message for turn top bags because both paper and poly turn top bags are very well constructed and are reusable many times.

3.     Use humor or whimsy to relate back to your brand while making your customer smile. 

Imagine this quote to support a jewelry brand:
